Contrahechizo is being released in the only way its own narrative allows: far from the digital ecosystem that turns everything into background noise. The music industry is no longer the music industry, and its channels have nothing to do with it. This album may not make a difference, but that’s not the objective. The objective is to show that if having control and being real means having less visibility, then that’s what we’re going to do.

We need to redefine the concept of ‘independent.’ Independent used to mean not being on a major label because you chose that path. Are almost all artists independent today? No. Labels simply don’t want you anywhere near them. And you’re not independent if you depend on Meta or on the streaming model, either. And that’s fine; not everyone has to choose the independent route. But today you will only be independent if you put your album on Bandcamp, on your own website, on YouTube, or on any platform where you have total control (Subvert will be an option very soon). Try getting the email of someone who saved your record on Spotify. It doesn’t happen, and they don’t want it to happen.
